Indian River Charter High School Carnival Brings Fun, Learning to the Community
October 17, 2025
On October 17, 2025, Indian River Charter High School opened its campus to the community for its annual school carnival, welcoming families, students, and residents from across Indian River County. The popular event offered games, activities, and educational experiences designed to bring the school and community together.

One of the evening’s highlights was an interactive escape room hosted by the school’s Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) club. Participants were challenged to work together to escape a rat-infested science lab while learning about the dangers of tobacco use and the importance of making healthy choices. The creative, hands-on experience allowed both students and community members to engage with SWAT’s mission in a fun and memorable way.
By opening the carnival to the public, Indian River Charter High School provided an opportunity for community members to learn more about student-led health initiatives while enjoying a family-friendly event. The SWAT club’s escape room successfully combined education and entertainment, leaving a lasting impression on attendees and highlighting the positive impact of youth leadership in Indian River County.
